„The New Horizons for Medical Museums and Collections” Conference 2023 was organised in Leiden, the Netherlands on 20–23 September 2023. The conference was organised by Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, in collaboration with Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC).
The conference investigated the role and value of medical museums and/or medical collections for societies in the past, present and future. Conference brought together representatives from medical museums and collections from all over the world, including the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Switzerland, Greece, Spain, Germany, Italy and New Zealand.
In connection with research into the medical collections of the University of Warsaw and the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Warsaw, representatives of the University of Warsaw Museum also took an active part in the conference.
