Marta Piszczatowska holds a doctorate in health sciences. She graduated in history from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn in 2005, later completed a postgraduate programme in art history, and two further postgraduate programmes: Social and Political Perspectives at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, and Museology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
Her doctoral thesis, supervised by Professor Elżbieta Krajewska-Kułak of the Medical University of Białystok, examined the history of obstetrics and gynaecology at the Medical Academy in Białystok between 1950 and 1987.
She spent several years on the staff of the Museum of the History of Medicine and Pharmacy at the Medical University of Białystok, where she developed the museum’s educational programme and authored or co-authored several permanent and temporary exhibitions on historical and medical themes, including ‘Milestones in Białystok’s Hospital History’, ‘From ‘Medical Academy to ‘ Medical University’, and ‘Medical Heritage in Białystok’, and ‘University Museums for an Independent Poland’.
She has taken part in more than 40 research and exhibition projects; her catalogue and exhibition credits include:

She is a Fellow of the Robert Anderson Research Charitable Trust, and has received awards from both the Podlasie and Mazovia branches of the Association of Polish Museum Professionals.
