Permanent exhibition
It is a fascinating story about the University’s journey from the moment of its foundation in 1816 to the present day. The exhibition shows where we come from, where we are now, and where we are heading as an academic community.
It is a story about tradition and identity formed by the dynamically changing social and political circumstances and a testament to the richness of Polish science and astonishing intellectual heritage, that has been built by generations of scholars and students. The exhibit is an invitation for all of those, who want to know about the lives and achievements of their predecessors – people who used to roam the same streets and halls as we do today.
Two hundred years of history meet here with the ever-changing present, enclosed in unique showpieces, archival documents, and modern, interactive presentations.
It is a story about the people of science – their passions, discoveries, and contribution to the development of the academic community, whose legacy still lives on and inspires future generations.
Exhibition “University of Warsaw. Passion, Science and Identity” was created as a part of the project “Science, passion, identity. The scientific cabinets of the Royal University of Warsaw” subsidized with state budget funds granted by the Minister of Education and Science under the “Social responsibility of science II” programme.
