Starting today, on Krakowskie Przedmieście, we present an exhibition dedicated to Dr. Jan Żabiński, director of the Warsaw Zoo in the years 1929-1951, insurgent, graduate of the University of Warsaw, outstanding zoologist and doctor of philosophy.

Jan Franciszek Żabiński (1897-1974) actively participated in both world wars, took part in the Warsaw Uprising. They were awarded the medal “Righteous Among the Nations”, and posthumously the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
